How your page looks in search results.
The SERP (search engine results page) is the page that opens after a search. Every organic result has three parts: the site name and address line, the blue title and the description below it. Visitors usually decide whether to visit from these three lines alone.
Google cuts the title and description by the width they take on screen, not by character count. An “m” and an “i” take different space, so of two 60-character titles one fits and the other ends with an ellipsis. This tool measures the text in pixels and shows where it breaks; for the whole page, the SEO Checker applies the same measure along with the other rules.
The pixel counter and what it measures.
On desktop results the title is set at 20 pixels and the description at 14 pixels. The tool adds up each letter’s Arial width; Turkish letters (ç, ğ, ı, ö, ş, ü) count as their base letter.
The thresholds match our SEO Checker: a title within ≈ 580 px is “fits”, up to 640 px “borderline”, longer is “cut”; a description within ≈ 920 px is “fits”, up to 1,000 px “borderline”.
- Keyword firstWhen the search term sits in the first half of the title it stays visible even if the title is cut.
- Brand lastThe brand goes at the end as “ | Brand”; if space runs short it is the first to go.
- Promise and proof in the descriptionThe description says what the page offers and why it can be trusted, in two sentences.
- A distinct text for every pagePages carrying the same title or description compete with each other.
What makes a title earn the visit.
- 01
The language of the search
People looking for information respond to “what, how”; people close to buying respond to “price, package, order”. The title speaks the language of the search.
- 02
Real numbers, the right year
A list count, a price or the year stands out in a title when it is real; invented figures cost trust.
- 03
A description written like an ad
Benefit, proof and the next step. Google does not always show the description, yet a well written one is used in most searches.
- 04
The first line on mobile
On mobile the title sits in two lines in a narrower area; the part read on the first line carries the main message.
- 05
One intent per page
When a page answers one search, the title is clear too; a title that covers two topics is weak in both.
- 06
Changes that are measured
In Search Console the page’s click-through rate (CTR) is compared before and after the change; a title that does not improve is rewritten.

SERP previews, what people ask.
The most asked questions about title length, pixel width and Google rewriting titles.
Back to the PreviewIt shows how a page title and meta description will look on the Google results page, where they will be cut and where the searched word sits, before the page goes live.
Google applies no fixed character limit; on desktop a title that does not fit an area of about 580 pixels is cut with an ellipsis. For most titles that is around 50–60 characters.
On desktop about 920 pixels show, which is 140–160 characters for most text. With the key information and keyword in the first sentence, it still reads well if cut.
If the title does not match the content, is very long or stuffed with keywords, Google may replace it with other text on the page such as the H1. A clear title that describes the page accurately makes this less likely.
Yes. On mobile the result area is narrower and the title can run over two lines. Choosing the mobile view in the tool shows how the same text settles into the narrow area.
No. The measurement runs entirely in your browser; the title, description and address are not sent to our server or anywhere else.
