What ROAS is, and how it is calculated.
ROAS (return on ad spend) shows how much revenue each lira spent on ads brings back. A campaign that earns 90,000₺ on 20,000₺ of spend has a ROAS of 4.5, also written as 450%.
ROAS looks at revenue, not profit. To see whether a campaign really pays, the gross margin comes in: break-even ROAS is 1 divided by the margin. For campaign links to be measured correctly, the UTM Builder can be used.
Six metrics, one campaign.
The metrics show different layers of a campaign: CPM and CTR the ad’s visibility and appeal, CPC the cost of traffic, conversion rate the strength of the landing page, CPA and ROAS the business result.
An ad platform’s ROAS is its own measurement; compared with sales in GA4 or the e-commerce dashboard it can differ. Decisions are made with data from the same source wherever possible.
| Metric | Formula | What it tells |
|---|---|---|
| CTR | clicks ÷ impressions × 100 | How appealing the ad is |
| CPC | spend ÷ clicks | The cost of a visit |
| CPM | spend ÷ impressions × 1,000 | The cost of a thousand impressions |
| Conversion rate | conversions ÷ clicks × 100 | Landing page strength |
| CPA | spend ÷ conversions | The cost of winning a customer |
| ROAS | revenue ÷ spend | Revenue per lira spent |
Three levers that lift ROAS.
- 01
The landing page
Raising the conversion rate with the same traffic lowers CPA and lifts ROAS directly; page speed and a clear offer are the first checks.
- 02
Audience and creative
A low CTR points to either the ad or the audience; creative variations are measured separately with utm_content.
- 03
Organic support
Visitors from SEO carry no ad cost; when ads and organic search are planned together, the total acquisition cost falls.

ROAS and ad metrics, what people ask.
The most asked questions about calculating ROAS, a good ROAS and other ad metrics.
Back to the CalculatorRevenue from ads is divided by ad spend. With 40,000₺ of revenue on 10,000₺ of spend, ROAS is 4 (400%).
There is no single right value; it depends on the business’s margin. Break-even ROAS is 1 ÷ margin: 4 at a 25% margin, 2 at a 50% margin. Above it is profit, below it a loss.
ROAS compares revenue with ad spend. ROI compares the profit left after all costs with the investment. For SEO investments, the SEO ROI Calculator can be used.
CPC is the cost per click; CPA is the cost of a conversion (sale, form, sign-up). As the conversion rate rises, CPA falls at the same CPC.
Spend and revenue are entered on the same basis: both including VAT or both excluding it. The margin should be calculated on the same basis too.
